The Stone Hunting Lodge First Visit
I started to feel drowsy and tired just then. A bruise and lump had appeared where I had hit my head in the cave beneath the waterfall, and it was beginning to make itself properly known.
After ambling around the property, and seeing that the door of the lodge was locked and that nobody appeared to be currently dwelling there, I decided to take a rest in the shadow of the fir tree near the bird bath.
Putting down the blanket I'd acquired from the folk around the fire the night before, I sat down as though to picnic.
For some time I peered about myself, examining the details of the place, but eventually I lay back to look at the sky and watch the ever-shifting clouds as the pain from the bump on my head subsided, and I must have fallen asleep...
