Mana
Mana is spiritual or magical essence usually generated by and held within a biological creature. Mana is expended when performing very vigorous activity or casting magic spells. Certain spells and advanced essays can be empowered by spending more than the usually-required amount of mana, but the maximum extra amount is limited by the spellcaster's ability.
