Guts (GUTS, GUT) represents the endurance and hardiness of the body, it's constitution - the body's ability to overcome the punishment of grueling conditions: extremes of temperature, of harmful poisons, of infection and disease. Constitution is only very indirectly tied to strength - for a powerful professional weight-lifter might have a reasonable short-term muscle endurance as required for his sport - but he might tire quickly in situations requiring slow-burn effort, such as a long uphill hike in the mountains, and he may be very susceptible to certain illesses and poisons that are no danger to creatures with a different immune system (ie. those with stronger guts).
