You can make your defense roll now. If the result fails to meet or exceed the incoming attack, you take health damage equal to the difference between the rolls.

If your defense roll result is equal to or larger than your foe's attack result, then you avoid all hurt from the attack,

A) If your defense was strong enough, or if you are able to quickly recover from the shock of any fresh injury, then you might choose to attack at this time, noting the total of your dice rolls and any relevant bonuses, and then continue on.

B) Otherwise you can move or stand your ground and continue, to end your turn.

C) Lastly, you may essay to withdraw from the confrontation.

D) If you have zero (0) health points remaining, you are dead.
