You can make your defense now. If the result does not meet or exceed the original attack, you take health damage equal to the difference between the rolls.

If your defense roll result is equal to or larger than your foe's attack result, then you avoid injury,

Now it is your turn.

A) If your defense was sufficient, or if you are able to quickly recover from the shock of any new injury you have sustained, then you might choose to attack now, taking note of the total of your dice rolls and any relevant bonuses, and then continue.

B) Otherwise you can move or stand your ground and continue, to finish your turn.

C) Finally, you may attempt to withdraw from the engagement.

D) If you have zero (0) health points remaining, you are dead.
